Gail Albert received her PhD in psychology from The Johns Hopkins University. A licensed psychologist and fine art photographer, she has also written the novel Matters of Chance, which was a National Book Award Finalist;  The Other Side of the Couch: the Healing Bond in Psychiatry, which has been a favorite of many graduate programs; and Mending the Heart, Tending the Soul: Directions to the Garden Within, which has been   very well received. An Assistant Clinical Professor of Psychiatry at NYC’s Mount Sinai Medical Center as well as a certified teacher of Jewish meditation and mystical practice, she currently has a private psychology practice in Woodstock NY and teaches Jewish meditation in addition to walking outdoors with her camera.
